Description

Thanks to the proliferation of digital technologies and social media, people around the world increasingly communicate through videos, often generated by other users. Screen performances have become both play, as in dance challenges on Tik Tok, and work, such as meetings or classes on ZOOM. As educational tools, these videos shape both how we understand the world around us and how we communicate our ideas across the globe. From the perspective of performance and media history, this lecture explores how the world's oldest art form “ live performance“ can help us understand, navigate and succeed in a technological future.
