To live in the twenty-first century is to be reminded — again and again — that all human beings are interconnected. The challenges that confront us today, such as climate change, refugee crises, and global pandemics, demand that we think globally and cooperate across borders and cultures. However, finding solutions to these problems will not be simple. We will need leaders who understand politics, economics, history, culture, and ethics. It's by studying the liberal arts that students can attain this understanding. The liberal arts equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to solve complex human problems.
